RRB Group D Result 2018: The exam for RRB Group D is supposed to be held in the month of August or September. So, when can it be known that who are the lucky ones to get through it? It can be estimated by now that RRB Group D Result 2018 should be announced by the end of this year or maximum by the starting o 2019.

RRB or Railway Recruitment Board has conducted recruitment of Railway Group D this year to fill up about 62907 vacancies. Some of the posts that this group includes are track manager, gateman, helper, pointsman, and similar others.

RRB Group D Result Date:

Candidates interested in the RRB Group D exam were supposed to fill up the form by March 2018. The application got updated in the month of July 2018. Candidates got the RRB Admit Card 10 days prior to the examination. It is expected that the Railway Group D Result 2018 will be published online through Railway Bharti Board portal in the month of January 2018.

Are you confused about the RRB Group D exam dates?

The exams should start in August and should last till September. Candidates with the name initials of A, T, O, F, B, Q, L, and E shall have their exams conducted in the second week of August. Candidates with the name initials of R, H, Y, and N shall have their exams in the third week of August. Candidates with the name initials of M, K, and V will have their exams in the last week of August and C, S, and I will have them in the second week of September. The rest of the candidates can sit for the exams during the mid of September.

Railway Group D Result 2018:

This time RRB has taken the initiative to conduct online exams and hence there are chances that the results may get declared within 3-4 months. As per this belief, the RRB Group D Result 2018 should be out by December 2018 or January.

RRB Group D Exam:

The candidates applying for the exam should match either of these educational qualifications:

  • Class 10th pass,
  • ITI certification from SCVT or NCVT recognized institutes,
  • NAC certification by NCVT.

The candidates must be within the age limit of 18 years to 33 years. The upper limit is fixed to 33 years only for the candidates of general category. People belonging to Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe have an upper age limit of 38 years, while the OBC category has an upper age limit of 36 years. Similarly, the ex-servicemen can have an extended age limit of 3 years while people with disabilities can have an extended age limit of 10 – 15 years. There is also relaxation for people from J&K, women, and candidates working in Quasi-administration.

How was the RRB Group D Exam?

The duration of the exam is of 90 minutes and the candidates need to answer 100 MCQ questions. There are negative markings in the form of one mark for every three wrong questions.

Candidates faced question from the following subjects for the exam:

  • Mathematics,
  • General Science,
  • Reasoning and General Intelligence,
  • Current Affairs and General Awareness.

RRB Group D Cut Off 2018:

When the Railway Group D results are out, the selection of the candidate will be as per the cut off marks gained by the candidate. The candidate from the unreserved category should have a cut off mark of 40%. But there is relaxation for candidates of other categories. Candidates from OBC category can have a cut-off mark of 30% while candidates from the category of SC and ST have a cut off mark of just 30.

RRB Group D Result, what happens after this?

After the candidate qualifies the online test, he or she has to apply for the PET test. In this, the male candidates should be able to carry a weight of 35 kgs while the women candidates should be able to carry a weight of 20 kgs for 2 minutes, covering 100 meters. Similarly, the male candidates should be capable of running about 1000 meters in the time duration of 4 minutes and 15 seconds while the women candidates should be capable of running about 1000 meters in the time duration of 5 minutes and 40 seconds.

After this particular test is over, the last step is carried out and this is all about document verification. After successful completion of this step, the appropriate designation is provided to the candidates.

For this year, the RRB Group D exam is conducted for the cities Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubhaneswar, Bilaspur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi, and Secunderabad.
